1931 Slant
Owner(s): Geoff & Vickie
We purchased our 1931 Slant Window Sedan from Alan and Daisy Morris, members of the Dallas MAFC. He had recently lost his license due to poor eyesight and couldn’t drive any more. I drove it home while Vickie followed. On the way home, I noticed it wasn’t running quite right. We made arrangements with TJ Richmond to give it a once over and determine the cars condition. After going through the mechanicals, he took the car for a test drive. Upon returning back to his shop he noticed the sound of water drops hitting hot metal. Upon further inspection, TJ discovered that the engine block was cracked and water was leaking into one of the cylinders. It turned out to be an unfixable crack. So a rebuilt engine was sourced. So hey while we are waiting for it let’s paint the car. Well if we are gonna do that let’s replace the interior. How about a Gary Bernard four speed for good measure. New glass would be swell. Those old door handles and bumpers gotta go. The tires are how old? Get new ones. Finally Daisy (that’s what Vickie named her in honor of Mrs. Morris who had passed by then) was back on the road and looking as sharp as ever.
