Leads on the Ammeter are Reversed Question

What might be the reason for the amp meter showing a charge when I turn on the headlights or blow the horn?

Answer:

It seems like the leads on the Ammeter might be reversed, or they could have been switched at the terminal box posts. Fortunately, it’s a simple solution. Remove the instrument panel and reverse the leads on the back side of the ammeter. (It’s not uncommon for someone to accidentally connect the ammeter leads incorrectly).
