Tour to Graham, Tx Question

FWMAFC members met at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 8, in White Settlement, TX, for the Graham overnight tour. Even though they could not participate in the tour, members Paul and Martha Chance provided fresh doughnuts, cookies, coffee, and water for all to enjoy prior to leaving on the tour. Thanks to the Chances for providing such a thoughtful gesture—it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone!

Tina and Clint provided each member with a tour bag containing Graham tour guides and map directions, along with a Fort Belknap write-up and a couple of goodies.

We had five “A”s and two modern cars make the tour. The tour followed the back roads and took approximately three hours to arrive in downtown Graham. Along the way, we only had one incident. Unfortunately, Geoff Stamp lost his front bumper but was able to retrieve it—but not before a big truck ran over it!

We parked at the town square to take pictures and chatted under the beautiful trees before heading to lunch. After lunch, everyone proceeded to make the short drive to Fort Belknap, where the park ranger opened the museum for us to tour. It is full of history and relics dating back to before the Civil War. If you ever get close to Graham, you should make a stop to see the museum.

Everyone checked into our hotel for a quick rest and met that evening to enjoy dinner at a local Mexican food restaurant. Sunday morning came early, and we hit the road at about 9:00 A.M. to head back to Fort Worth.
